The Unschooled Lens – Week 39
It was another fun week around our house. Although we didn’t venture into the mountains or to any museums in Denver, we found plenty to do. A trip to the movie theater, new games to play, parks, libraries, and things to build kept the kids busy and happy. Continue reading The Unschooled Lens – Week 39
The Unschooled Lens – Week 38
Picking up where I left off last week, I spent Sunday in Portland before flying home that night and had a great time wandering around the city one last time. The next day it was more or less business as usual! Which means that we built things, wrote, hiked, played, and learned about sharks! Continue reading The Unschooled Lens – Week 38
The Unschooled Lens – Week 37
I had an amazing, but exhausting week. It started normal enough, but early Wednesday morning I headed off to Portland for Home Dad Con, an amazing yearly gathering of At-Home Dads. As a result the roads, trails, and parking lots throughout the park are … Continue reading A Day In The Mountains
Conversation at the Museum: Thoughts on Fatherhood
Three years ago I was at the museum with my five children. The baby was hungry for a bottle and the rest were hungry for their lunch, so we headed into the foodcourt. We sat at an empty table with enough room for all of us, and I asked the older four children to sit quietly while I fed the baby. Continue reading “Conversation at the Museum: Thoughts on Fatherhood”

Unschooler, Age 9
His interests are myriad. He’s fascinated by science generally, physics and electricity more specifically. He loves space, and for years he has talked about becoming a space asteroid miner when he grows up. At least, when he isn’t imagining starting a … Continue reading Unschooler, Age 9
